Terms of Use

Approved Aug 18, 2026. Last updated: August 18, 2026.

1. These terms

By using https://signalcontextadvisory.com, our assessments, surveys, calculators, or other tools (the "Site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

We may update these terms. The date above shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.

2. What the Site is

Signal & Context Advisory publishes research and offers advisory services on AI adoption, governance, and workflow design. The Site provides general information and self-assessment tools.

The Site is not advisory services. Using it does not create a client relationship, an engagement, a confidential relationship, or any professional duty on our part. Advisory services are provided only under a signed written agreement.

How we handle information you provide is described in our Privacy & Data Practices.

3. Assessments and tools — what results mean

Our assessments produce a structured output based entirely on what you enter. That output is:

  • general information, not advice — not legal, financial, technical, security, compliance, or professional advice of any kind;
  • not an audit, certification, accreditation, or verification of anything about your organization;
  • based only on your own self-reported answers, which we do not verify;
  • a point-in-time snapshot measured against a general model, not against your specific circumstances, obligations, or risk profile;
  • generated in part by automated means, and may contain errors or omissions.

Please do not rely on an assessment result as the basis for a consequential decision. Decisions about your organization's technology, governance, security, compliance, staffing, or spending should be made with advisers who know your actual situation. If that's a conversation you'd like to have, get in touch.

Where our tools use AI to generate a narrative interpretation, we say so in the tool. Generated output can be wrong.

4. Your submissions

Please don't submit confidential, proprietary, personal, or regulated information to the Site — see our Privacy & Data Practices. Our tools are designed so that you never need to.

You confirm that anything you submit is yours to submit and doesn't breach an obligation you owe to anyone else. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and create derivative works from your submissions for the purposes described in our Privacy & Data Practices — including research, benchmarking, developing and improving our offerings, and published work in aggregated form.

We may remove or delete any submission at our discretion, including anything that appears to contain confidential or personal information.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't: use the Site unlawfully; attempt to gain unauthorized access to it; scrape, harvest, or use automated means to extract content or submit responses; submit deliberately false responses at scale or otherwise interfere with the integrity of our data; introduce malicious code; reverse-engineer our assessments or scoring; or use the Site to build a competing product.

6. Our content

All content on the Site — including our research, writing, frameworks, methodologies, assessments, scoring models, and materials — is owned by Signal & Context Advisory LLC and protected by intellectual property law.

You may read it, share links to it, and quote it briefly with attribution. You may not reproduce, republish, adapt, or distribute it commercially, or use it to train any machine learning model, without our written permission.

7. No warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that results will be accurate or reliable, or that any particular outcome will follow from acting on anything here.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost business opportunity, or business interruption, arising out of your use of the Site — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, and even if we have been advised that such damages were possible.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of the Site will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

This section allocates risk for a free informational resource. It does not govern paid engagements, which have their own agreed liability terms.

9. Third-party links

We link to third-party sites that we don't control and aren't responsible for. A link is not an endorsement.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Site, or your submission of material you had no right to submit.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of them will be brought exclusively in the courts located in the District of Columbia, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

12. General

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest survives. Our not enforcing something isn't a waiver of it. These terms and our Privacy & Data Practices are the entire agreement between us about the Site. You may not assign them; we may, in connection with a business transfer.
